Mad Dog is actually Dr. Jeffrey Austin, a mild mannered veterinarian who in a bizarre scientific experiment gone awry, is endowed with the adrenal glands of a Doberman pinscher giving him the super powers of a dog (super strength, super speed, super hearing, super smell). The cover of a classic Mad Dog comic (12 issues in total): " Mad-Dog, Mankind's Best Friend " Price: $0.12 Chuck terHorst is Chairman of the American-Canadian Trans-Continental Communications Company (AmCanTranConComCo), which owns of Ace Comics. The offices are located at 31 E. Wacker Dr. in Chicago. Series creators Bill & Cheri Steinkellner and Phoef Sutton were members of the CHEERS production staff for seven years. Carlene Watkins was previously a regular on "The Tortellis", a 1987 NBC Cheers spin-off which lasted for 13 episodes. Cynthia Stevenson starred on the short running syndicated series "My Talk Show" (1990). She also guested in two Cheers episodes as Norm Peterson's secretary, Doris. Mad-Dog's arch-enemy is the Evil Mazza. Strangely enough, one of the vice-presidents of Paramount Television is named Tom Mazza. "Bob" was filmed on the Paramount studio lot in Hollywood. Director Michael Zinberg has also worked on both of the previous Bob Newhart series, particularly the original Bob Newhart Show. In addition to directing many episodes, he was an Associate Producer, Producer, and eventually Executive Producer for the series. He also directed several episodes of "Newhart". His most recent credits prior to "Bob" was directing many episodes of "Quantum Leap". Marvel Comics created a short series of "Mad-Dog" comic books. Each issue is split in two parts, one the classic original Mad-Dog envisioned by Bob McKay, and the other a vicious, crazed world from Harlan Stone.
